A
residents care level is determined by the results of
the Functional Assessment of the Resident (FAR) questionnaire.
The FAR is a health assessment tool utilized to determine
the care level that each potential resident may need. The
FAR also helps determine if the prospective resident is suitable
for placement in an assisted living facility.
FAR results are determined by applying a point system to
each possible health-related question. The FAR results reveal
a persons care level requirements and the associated
monthly charges. The care level charge is added to the individuals
monthly rental cost for a consistent monthly fee. The following
chart shows the various care levels:
