The Heron House philosophy promotes independence and a higher quality of life for residents. Every Heron House community comes complete with the following services and amenities.

Private Residences
Each Heron House community offers choices from among three to five individual floor plans. Every residence features a beautiful Bay window and can be decorated with the resident’s personal belongings or come fully-furnished by Heron House. A wall-kitchenette can also be included for more independent residents able to utilize this feature.

Dining
Chef prepared, nutritious, “home-cooked” meals are served three times a day in the central dining room as part of each resident’s monthly rent. This is a vital part of the Heron House experience, often allowing resident’s to maintain their vitality with better nutrition. It also promotes social interaction between residents.

Health Care Services
While not a 24-hour skilled nursing facility, Heron House does provide necessary daily health care assistance to residents, as determined by the Functional Assessment of the Resident (FAR). Health care services can include, but are not limited to: medication management, assistance with the activities of daily living, scheduling and transportation for medical appointments, and other medically- or physically- related assistance.

Individualized Laundry and Housekeeping Services
The service staff takes care of each resident’s laundry and housekeeping needs on an individual basis. Clothing and linens are individually laundered and are not mixed between residents. Laundry is picked up daily, biweekly or weekly, as needed.

Resident Council and Resident Concierge
Every Heron House community has its very own Resident Council made up of actively-involved residents. They participate in many of the everyday decisions regarding meal selection, scheduled activities and the community as a whole. Residents can also take advantage of the resident concierge, a paid staff member who is available for concierge services and to assist the residents with any special requests.

Life Enrichment
Heron House employs a Life Enrichment Director who plans weekly exercise programs, social outings, musical performances and community outreach programs for the residents. Many of these functions are held in the Life Enrichment Center, a gathering place specifically designed for social gatherings, group games, crafts and other recreational activities.

Community Activity Areas
Residents can enjoy the latest movie releases in Heron House’s very own Home Theater. Each Heron House features a private viewing room with large-screen television that seats about 30 residents.

Many Heron House facilities have a game room that comes complete with a fireplace and library. Residents can enjoy their favorite card and table games or read a book while relaxing by the fire. There’s also a pool table located just off the lobby.

Heron House courtyards feature an outdoor grill, raised gardening beds, shuffleboard and a hole-in-one putting green.

Third-party Services Available In-house
Heron House features a full-service beauty salon and barbershop. A stylist rents space within the community and charges a fee for their services.

The physical therapy room provides a place for residents to receive outpatient therapy by a third-party provider right from the facility. From Occupational Therapy to Physical Therapy, these services can be obtained in-house for a fee to the provider.
